by Tom Longland

Excitement is in the air as the Dunnville Aeros Hockey Club prepares to build on the momentum of their historic inaugural season. With big changes on the horizon, the Aeros are ready to make a lasting impact as they enter their second season, now as a part of the Ontario Super Hockey League (OSHL).

This Saturday, September 28th, marks a major milestone not just for the Aeros but for the town of Dunnville as well. The Aeros’ home opener will be their first game in the OSHL, and the club has officially been designated a semi-professional franchise—making them the first semi-professional team to ever call Dunnville home. This new chapter brings added prestige to the community and sets the stage for another thrilling season of high-level hockey.

After a successful first regular season that saw the Aeros make waves both on and off the ice, this second season represents an opportunity to take things to the next level. The move to the OSHL elevates the quality of competition, and the Aeros are eager to rise to the challenge. With new talent on the roster, a dedicated coaching staff, and unwavering support from the community, the team is ready to compete in the highly anticipated 2024-2025 season.

Building on the strong foundation laid in their first season, the Aeros continue to be dedicated to community involvement and support. The team’s commitment to local initiatives, such as fundraising for the breakfast program, will remain at the forefront, ensuring that the Aeros continue to be a positive force in Dunnville.

The Aeros’ ownership group is excited for what lies ahead and deeply grateful to all the volunteers, sponsors, coaching staff, and players who have made this journey possible. Their dedication and hard work have helped the Aeros achieve new heights, and this season is shaping up to be even more spectacular.

Don't miss out on the action this Saturday, September 28th, at the Dunnville Memorial Arena against the Strathroy Jets. Puck drop for the Aeros' home opener is at 7:30 PM, and tickets are expected to sell quickly. Be sure to secure your spot and witness history in the making as the Aeros embark on this exciting new chapter in the OSHL!
